Shasta Industries 25 Foot Travel
Trailer For Sale
Up for
sale is a very nice Shasta travel trailer, in which I have proudly owned
for 23 years now. The trailer has always been used by my family,
with the most love and care, and has never been smoked in or has never had
any of our pets in it. We now
want to pass it on to someone special to create their own wonderful
camping memories.

I don't really want to sell our trailer, but with our
current young family situation, we aren't and just won't get much use of the trailer for quite a few more years. This is
really a great trailer but since we had our 2nd child, we're taking a
short break from RVing, and someday hope to return to RVing, and even
upgrade to a motorhome. My wife and I now have a 5 year old daughter,
a 3 1/2 year old daughter, and a 2 year old son, so if we held on to the
trailer, it would probably would just sit around collecting dust. Other
than internet newsgroups, and a few free classified websites, I have not
advertised our trailer at all, so many people still do not know it's for
sale. My spring season plan is to take the time to clean the trailer
from end to end, raise the selling price, and
advertise locally in newspapers and trader magazines. If you are
interested in the trailer before the big spring rush, please contact me
to come and see this great trailer.

I called the manufacturer, and the actual trailer weight
is around 3,000 pounds empty with a gross vehicle weight of 5,200 pounds. The newer trailers,
especially ones with the slide outs, are much
heavier. I currently tow the trailer
easily with my
1992 Chevy K1500 truck with a 350 V8 engine,
but in the past have also towed it with a 1982 Chevy Impala
station wagon with a 305 V8 engine, and a 1971 Ford Galaxy 500 with a 351 V8
engine.

Known trailer issues
of little concern
* Some of the interior fabric shows sign of dry
rotting. This has never really bothered me so we just used the trailer
as it is, and never bothered to reupholster the original cushion covers and
curtains.
* Since we have always gone camping in the summer months, we have never used
the furnace, so although I can tell you the air conditioning has always worked
great, I don't know how well the heat works. I suspect it might need
updating from a pilot light controlled system to a direct ignition
system, as I did with the hot water heater.
* There might be a ceiling leak in the area of the vent/skylight directly over the
tub in the bathroom tub. Since it only slightly leaked directly into the
tub, I never explored this issue more to find out if the vent was left open in
the rain, or if the vent actually leaks. Their is some water damage /
staining in the ceiling area directly around the skylight fixture. The trailer
and the tub stays perfectly dry, even
after the heaviest of rains. I was never very concerned about this
issue, so I never did anything about it.
* At the time of our last camping trip in this trailer, I washed and waxed
the camper bringing it to its nice bright luster shine. Since then, we
have stored the travel trailer in a secure, slightly wooded area, so the
trailer just needs a simple, good wash and wax job.
* The emergency brake controller, that activates the trailer brakes in
the event of a trailer disconnect, might have to be repaired or replaced
since it's never been tested, depending on your state inspection
criteria.
* One of the louver window's crank mechanism is not working properly.
Even though the crank turns normally, it does not open the window.
The window can be opened and closed manually.
* Some of the window screens are torn around the edges, and this might not
even be noticeable, but if needed, these screens could easily be re-screened at your
local hardware store.
* The trailer awning has a small ~6 inch tear where it connects to the
trailer on the left side. It has been this way for as long as I
can remember, and it has never hindered the luxurious use of the awning
for a nice shade.
Shasta Industries Travel Trailer Layout
Here is a trailer layout I drew up
myself, on a house design computer program. Please know that this
drawing is only intended to be used as an approximate reference, and not
as an exact scaled layout.

Bed Areas
Here are some photos of the bunk areas
in the trailer. The upper double bunk comes with a nice mattress,
and aluminum ladder, that also doubles as a kids' safety rail. The
front quadruple bunk is a super king-plus size bed with a very nice plush
mattress in very good condition. The middle double bunk is the only
one with the dry-rotted mattress cushion covers, but they are the type of
covers that easily zip off for easy cleaning or replacement.
