STAFF CHANGES ANNOUNCED
It was announced at worship on April 27, that
Pastor Sharon Rogers is stepping down as Visitation Pastor. We are pleased that Sharon intends to remain as
an active and enthusiastic member at Hiss.
It was also announced with gratitude to God, that Hiss will
welcome back an old friend and former Hiss member, Rev. George
Weitzel, Jr., as full time Associate Pastor, beginning July 2008.

and fellowship time
is held in Room #105. Refreshments for all ages.

DONATIONS OF AUDIO BOOKS ARE SOUGHT
Books on tape are needed to share with church
shut-ins who have vision problems. If you have audio tapes of
books that you would like to donate, please place them in the basket
in Son's Spot (#105) labeled "Audio Tape".

TWO Paper Recycling Bins!
Hiss now has two ABITIBI recycling bins for paper.
One is in the upper
Hiss parking lot, and the second is in the lower lot, near the
cemetery. Bring your papers to recycle
and help the church as well as the environment.
No cardboard or plastic bags, please! 
SARAH'S HOPE CLOTHING DONATIONS
Sarah's Hope does not directly accept clothing
donations. However, many of the clothing donations placed in the
container on the parking lot at St. Ursula's church are processed and
taken to Sarah's Hope. |

Hiss Food Pantry
The Food Pantry operates all year and accepts
donations continuously. Donations may by the piano in Room #105 (Son's Spot).
Canned meats, stews, fish, and beans; canned fruits, vegetables,
juice packs, crackers, etc. are all acceptable. Why not make it a
habit
to throw a few extras in your weekly grocery order,
and bring them with you on Sunday. |

Upon arrival, please check-in at the Church Office (2nd floor).

Electronic transfer of payments
from your checking or savings account can be made directly to the church.
Throughout the year, even while you are away, you can be content
knowing your pledge has been received and is contributing to the work
of the Church. One easy to use form can
begin or change your electronic contribution amount. Please
contact the church office or Finance Committee for a 2008 form. |

Sarah's Hope - Volunteers needed!
Sarah's Hope is a shelter for women &
children, located near Franklin Square Hospital. Folks from many local
churches volunteer at Sarah's Hope. If you are interested in
helping, please contact the Hiss Volunteer Coordinator, Phyllis Wiley.

The HISS TREE OF LIFE
The Tree of Life is located on the wall in the narthex (lobby.)
Add a leaf to the tree by picking up a form from the holder
next to the tree. The leaf can be imprinted to honor a loved one. Cost
per leaf is $780. The HISS TREE OF LIFE grows to support the
Capital Improvement Fund. |

Substitute Sunday School Teachers Needed
A few adults are needed to serve as occasional substitutes for
children's Sunday School classes (9:30 a.m. Sundays). If
