Heatilator A42C Woodburning Fireplace
For Sale

This is a very nice "Builder's Grade" woodburning fireplace
that just looks fantastic. It's "Zero Clearance" design allows the
versatility to be framed recessed into a wall, as in our installation, or can be
installed inside a room and framed around with wood studs and cement board, or
stone, or bricks, or tiles, or any material you can come up with; "Only The sky
Is The Limit". Add the wonderful ambiance of the warmth, sight, smell, and
sound of a crackling fire to your family room.
This woodburning fireplace was originally purchased "brand-new" in
October 2005, and installed in our new home. The stamped production date
is June 29, 2005. Even though this fireplace is
very beautiful, and has very nice glass doors, it still
is an "open" fireplace
with great romantic ambiance, but negative heating efficiency. The room
the fireplace is in feels nice and toasty warm, but because of the open
fireplace draft, most of the heat goes up the chimney. We have decided to
purchase another type of fireplace that will also supplement the heating of our
home, and have decided to purchase the Fireplace Xtrodinair 44 Elite.
We only used the fireplace our first winter, and enjoyed
having many fires, but were disappointed that it didn't really help our heating
bill. We contacted Heatilator, and under warranty they sent out a
representative who serviced the unit, replacing the rear and bottom concrete refractory
panels that were only slightly cracked, installed a new firescreen, and gave us a
brand-new wood grate. Other than the occasional
jack-o-lanterns or candles, we decided not
to use the fireplace for
more woodburning fires, to keep it looking brand-new for a new home.
I have removed the drywall and some framing, and have gently pulled
the Heatilator fireplace and chimney pipe out, taking great care not to cause
any damage to the unit in any way. I carefully placed the Heatilator unit
up on plywood, and we will be storing the fireplace unit in our garage, until the A42C finds a new
home. The fireplace also comes with SL300 double wall, 8 inch, air-cooled
chimney venting pipe, 2 metal chimney pipe firestops, and one 4 inch fresh air hose
and house air inlet vent. I am told by a
Heatilator representative that the weight of the unit is 200 pounds.
This fireplace can also be used with propane or nature gas
log sets, instead of firewood. It even has an access hole in the left side
of the unit for a gas line into the fireplace.

The built in circulating fan is designed to pull room air
into the fireplace body through the bottom front vent intake, and directs air
behind the firebox, and
warm air out the upper vent
into the room.
This fireplace is designed for small,
romantic, ambiance fires,
and will not heat your home.
